Jim Dahlstrom Retirement Presentation, May 31 – Donations Needed

Park Ranger Jim Dahlstrom at Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park on June 30, 2021. Hunter D’Antuono | Flathead Beacon

From Jim Rittenburg, who is actually the one managing this whole scheme…

(We could still use a little more money in the pot for this event. See below for details.)

In recognition and appreciation of Jim Dahlstrom’s service as the North Fork Sub-District Ranger for Glacier National Park, there will be a bit of a retirement celebration at the May 31st Pizza party that will be held in the usual place by the river just before the bridge at the Polebridge entrance to the Park. Jim has been invited to the pizza night and has confirmed he will be there but he is unaware of any retirement celebration so keep it mum, and maybe it will remain a surprise.

As most of you know, Jim retired in February after serving as the Polebridge ranger since 2017. A number of community members have expressed interest in doing something special for Jim so this note is intended to let the NF community know that anyone who is interested in contributing to this can do so through this small fundraiser. We will be giving Jim a pizza oven along with a variety of accessories to enjoy in his retirement and to remind him of the good times in the North Fork! Any funds raised above and beyond what is needed for the pizza gear will also be given to him to use toward the retirement travel he has planned for this year. So, anyone who is interested in contributing toward this can do so by going to the following link:

This link will be active until May 21st.

Also, during May the community hall will be open most days as the ceiling installation is in progress and a collection box will be kept there for anyone who prefers to contribute by cash or check. Or just get in touch with Jim Rittenburg (jim.rittenburg@icoptix.com or 215-796-1592) and hand him a donation directly.
